Fans took to the comments section of Alex’s post to share their thoughts about her revelation.
One person seemed concerned the TV personality wouldn’t be willing to return to her job on The One Show, as they insisted: “We miss you too much on The One Show!”
Another agreed: “You can if you still go to work on the One Show x.”
“Looks lovely. Hope you’re having a great holiday,” a third fan wrote.
The mum-of-two struggled to contain her emotions when she spoke to fellow parent Antonietta about her eldest daughter, Ellis.
Antonietta had explained in the episode her daughter gets bullied at school and she tried to cheer her up with expensive purchases.
Antonietta divulged to Alex, who presents the show with Steph McGovern: “I do find it hard to not spend on my children, particularly, Ellis, with everything she’s going through I just want her to be happy.”
The mum then welled up while speaking abut her daughter as she continued: “She gets called fat and ugly.
“It’s starting to get a little bit better but she’s had it since year seven and now she’s in year 10.”
“If she doesn’t have the right brand, people think oh you can’t afford it, your mums’s single,” Antonietta added. “She used to come out crying, but she just wants to go to school, get her head down and get a good job.”
She said: “If I can buy her some make-up, clothes, see her face light up and not always be down in the dumps, Ii will do that to her.”
Alex then gave a bag of dressing gowns, moisturiser and face masks to Antonietta in order for her to spend quality time with Ellis.
“Take that with you have a day spa at the house,” Alex suggested.
After handing over the spa essentials, Alex warned Antonietta: “You can’t go on spending money like this.”
Antonietta became emotional as she thanked Alex for her help, who also couldn’t hold back the tears as they hugged.
