Anne then added in reference to the National Autistic Society charity: “Could you talk to the NAS?”
The fan seemed to appreciate The Governess star’s advice as they replied: “Will do. Thanks for bringing the condition to my attention though on I’m A Celeb.”
Anne openly spoke about her experience with the form of autism while she was a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The TV personality praised her fellow campmates for how “sympathetic” they had been at the time.
She said on the ITV show: “I really appreciate how nice and sympathetic they’ve been to me.
“It was nice that they said I pick up on social cues because I’m never quite sure that I entirely do. I just get overwhelmed with all the things there are to do.”
During a chat with fellow contestant Rita Simons, Anne explained: “I didn’t raise the autism issue. It’s not like: ‘I want you to know I have this interesting disability that you have to accommodate.’”
Anne’s Asperger’s means she struggles to deal with more than one thing at a time and needs to plan ahead in detail.
She told the publication: “It took years of psychotherapy before I even considered dating.
“I lost weight, replaced my glasses with contact lenses and felt a lot more confident. But I find it really hard to hold down a relationship.”
Addressing her longest romance, she continued: “I’d fancied him for years and we were together for four months.
“Even though he lived in Brighton I still felt suffocated in Manchester. And sex was always better in my head, I felt like I was somewhere else while it was happening.”
The ITV favourite added: “It made me realise I needed space both mentally and physically in life, and I can’t make it work.
“I don’t think I ever will. I still get attracted to people but having a relationship isn’t fair on the other person.”
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
