The latest ARK Survival Evolved update is being released right now on PS4 and Xbox One.
New patch notes have also been shared by the Studio Wildcard development team, detailing all the significant changes.
Wildcard has been teasing new content coming to the game; however, this isn’t part of the latest update.
A new dinosaur is expected to be added to the game soon but probably on PC before consoles.
This is due to the certification process that PlayStation and Microsoft have in place, slowing down the launch of new console patches, compared to Steam.
Today’s ARK Survival Evolved update is more about improving the current content and how it works within the gameplay loop.
From what has been shared in the patch notes, Wildcard has looked to remove a lot of exploits involving players meshing through the map.
Patch notes for today’s ARK Survival console changes can be found below:
- Hundreds of fixes across all maps including mesh holes and updated collision to better match the visual landscape
- Various fixes to Triceratops ramming issues
- Updated metrics systems
Away from today’s update, another big change is coming to ARK Survival Evolved on all platforms.
It has been announced that a new round of Legacy Server closures is happening, this time focusing on those that are seeing very small numbers of players.
This will happen on June 11, meaning fans have a week to get their tribes in order before the big migration begins.
“Over time the ARK population has migrated from legacy to non-legacy and in its wake left many servers with low populations,” a message from Studio Wildcard explains.
“With calculations based on sustained player-count as well as popularity of game mode we will be removing lower population legacy servers, most of which retain a 0-4 player concurrent population.
“These servers will be taken offline on June 11th. Any existing server that is not considered a low pop server and is not taken down at this time will still exist on the Legacy network.
“Legacy servers will continue to remain on a separate cluster from the new cluster, which means you will not be able to transfer anything between Legacy servers and the new servers.
“You have from now until June 11 to move your belongings onto a server not present on this list. Please click one of the links below. They are separated by platform (PC, Xbox, and PS4).”
A new update regarding upcoming ARK Survival Evolved content could be announced during E3 2019, next week.
However, until Studio Wildcard provides a solid update on their plans, fans will have to wait and see.
For now, we have a picture of a new creature which looks set to be roaming the island in 2019, and appears to be a feathered Raptor.
Fans believe it might be a Utahraptor, the largest-known member of the family Dromaeosauridae.
