Carol Vorderman was joined on her self-titled Sunday Morning radio show with Welsh presenter Alex Winters, 42, who was her co-star for the early broadcast. The 58-year-old seemingly appeared unimpressed the producers had chosen him as a co-presenter as she jokingly fumed: “Oh no!” As the age-defying beauty gave an introduction as to what listeners can expect from today’s show, as she said: “Plus my partner in crime… “Oh no, for the morning. Nobody told me about this. It’s broadcaster Alex Winters. I said I didn’t want him back. I told you boss. I told you.”
She continued: “We’ll be talking about Saturdays and satnavs,” before adding: “For goodness sake, no-one listens to me anymore.”
Alex is a popular children’s television presenter for shows including The Bedtime Hour on CBeebies.
It appeared he was not too bothered by the cheeky swipe as he retweeted a snap of the pair together on his Twitter account, with a caption which read: “Sunday Morning with @carolvorders on @bbcradiowales is around the corner. This week Carol is joined by @alexwinterstv and they need your help with the following questions.”
However, the banter did not stop there after Carol revealed some exciting news during the radio broadcast.
She announced that from next week she will be presenting a new lunchtime show which will air on Saturdays on BBC Radio Wales.
Carol divulged: “Saturday coming, June 8, I start my Saturday show. Saturday lunchtime from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
“Basically they said Saturday lunchtime, so I imagine I just come in here and eat. And that’ll be for a year. I was about to say permanently but I don’t actually know how long it is.”
Alex interjected: “Will you make it to a year.”
To which Carol laughed and responded: “You’re not coming on.”
He pleaded: “Oh, come on,” but Carol rebuffed him adding: “No way”.
Meanwhile, the small-screen star took to Twitter and told her fans she will be making an appearance on Britain’s Got More Talent on ITV2 later today.
In view of her 402,000 followers, she said: “I’m on Britain’s Got More Talent after the final tonight @itv2 @StephenMulhern….if I listen to Jacob Jones singing again I think that man will actually break my heart #WillHeWin??”
Fans flocked to comment, as one person said: “Great news,” while another person cheekily gushed: “You are wife goals Vordy.”
Elsewhere, Carol has been making the presenting rounds as she recently stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show during the half-term break.
Earlier this week, she chatted with entertainment correspondent Dan Wotton but he momentarily forgot her name.
Dan and Carol had immediately laughed off the incident live on the show, which happened straight after she’d introduced him.
