Eyabi Anoma, an SEC all-freshman linebacker last season, is not enrolled at Alabama days before the start of fall football practice.
Monica Watts, a university associate vice president for communications, told Tidesports.com on Friday that Anoma “is currently not attending classes at The University of Alabama.” The university provided no other details, citing federal privacy regulations. The Tuscaloosa News had inquired about Anoma.
Tidesports.com’s Cecil Hurt noted that Anoma would not be able to participate in team activities, including practice, if he is not enrolled.
Anoma entered the NCAA’s transfer portal in February, Hurt reported, but withdrew his name one day later. He participated in spring workouts and played in the Tide’s A-Day spring game.
The Baltimore product played in 12 games for the Tide last season, recording nine tackles (two for loss). He earned all-freshman honors from SEC coaches.
