Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy will sit out 2019, report says | NFL


Mike McCarthy won’t coach in 2019.

McCarthy informed NFL Community he has determined to take a seat out the upcoming season after the Jets employed Adam Gase. McCarthy mentioned he was planning to spend time along with his household and can look to return to the sidelines in 2020.

Whereas he was a candidate for numerous different teaching positions, he was solely within the Jets’ job, based on an earlier ESPN report.

McCarthy, who took over the Packers in 2006, was fired by the group in early December after it obtained off to a 4-7-1 begin. He completed his time in Inexperienced Bay with a 125-77-2 report and led it to a Tremendous Bowl win in 2011.

Inexperienced Bay employed former Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur to interchange McCarthy earlier this week.
