“I did all of the emotions: I did frowns, I did smiles, it was sort of the biggest breadth, and I think that’s also why I had such a good time, because I got to do so much s**t — like, physically, emotionally — and I got to work with so many people,” she added.

The sequel trilogy is due to come to a conclusion with the release of The Rise of Skywalker next month, with footage from the trailers showing the “epic” fight between Rey and Kylo Ren to which Ridley was referring.

The scene sees Rey arrive on the ship as the waves of Kef Bir crash over them.

The storm rages around the pair as they face off, lightsabers drawn.
