If Apple follows its usual launch pattern then fans of the iPhone may not have long to wait for the next big release.

The US firm usual unveils its shiny new devices in the last quarter of the year and that means a big reveal could happen within the next few months.

With this blockbuster update getting closer, the rumours are beginning to come thick and fast and it seems there’s plenty to look forward to.

So, if you are a huge iPhone addict then here’s five things you should definitely know.

THE IPHONE 11 COULD GET A CAMERA BOOST

Every year the iPhone’s camera gets a little better but, if the latest rumours are true, 2019 could see a massive bump in performance.

It’s thought that Apple will include a triple rear camera on its next iPhone which may not only improve the zoom but also add a wide-angle lens to the mix.

Most of its Android rivals, including the Galaxy S10 and P30 Pro, now feature three or more rear lenses so it would make sense for Apple to follow with its own mega camera.

To back up these claims there’s been plenty of images which appear to show how this design will look with a trio of snappers clearly visible on most of these renders.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens later this year but expect the iPhone 11 to bring something new to photography fans.

OTHER NEW iPHONE 11 FEATURES THAT ARE RUMOURED INCLUDE….

Along with that camera boost, there’s plenty of other new features that look set to be included on the iPhone 11.

Apple always improves the performance of its phones so expect more power under the hood with the possible launch of a new chip.

Other rumoured extras on this device include the possible inclusion of reverse wireless charging which will allow you to refill smartphones and accessories such as the new AirPods.

Finally, we could see faster charging an improved display and much quicker Face ID unlocking technology.

THE NOTCH IS HERE TO STAY..FOR NOW

Ever since Apple launched the iPhone X back in 2017 there’s been love and hate for the notch.

Some manufacturers have begun ditching this design in favour of a hole-punched camera or pop-up mechanisms.

So will Apple do the same?

From all the renders that have been posted online, it seems the US technology firm is sticking with its original design.

That means there will almost certainly be a notch on the iPhone 11.

THE CHEAPER iPHONE XR MAY BE SET FOR A BIG CHANGE

The XR was announced last year with it offering customers the chance to get an all-screen iPhone at a cheaper price.

Along with that lower cost, the fact that it’s packed with features, fast processor and a colourful design has made the XR a hugely popular device.

Now it seems this Apple smartphone might be getting even better with a recently leaked image, via Mobile Fun and case maker Olixar, revealing a big update could be inbound.

The photos show a camera protector which can be used the cover the lenses to stop them getting scratched.

Whilst the current XR has a single lens, it appears that the next generation might get a dual-lens rear snapper.

This would be a hugely welcomed addition as it would bring improved photography to this phone including being to take more images using the Portrait mode.

The current XR does include this DSLR-style depth of field focus feature but you can only use it when the phone spots a human face which does limit its capabilities.

Mobile Fun says that Olixar is 100 per cent certain that this camera design is confirmed for new iPhones.

EXPECT A RELEASE THIS AUTUMN

If Apple follows its usual cycle then we can expect a launch event to take place in September.

This is when Apple always reveals its new devices and 2019 looks set to be no different.

Although the new phones could be shown to the world in mid-September, don’t expect them to arrive in stores until much later in the month.

In fact, some years have seen wait until October before officially releasing the phones shown at its famous keynote.
