The Goodies blame BBC ‘white liberals’ for ban on repeats


SEVENTIES comedy favourites The Goodies have accused “white liberals” and “silly folks” of being behind the BBC’s refusal to run repeats of their hit present. The present, a mixture of sitcom and surreal sketches starring Invoice Oddie, Graeme Backyard and Tim Brooke-Taylor, drew audiences of 12 million throughout its 10-year run on BBC2 between 1970 and 1980.
