Love Island’s Tommy Fury shocked the nation on Tuesday after he picked Lucie Donlan in the recoupling ceremony, stealing her away from her seemingly perfect match Joe Garratt. The boxing brother of legend Tyson Fury enthralled many of the girls in the villa when he walked in and has continued to gain attention after maintaining that he is a true romantic and a softie, even revealing himself as a Hannah Montana fan. But now the Love Island newbie has come under fire after his ex-girlfriend has accused the sporting star of lying in his entrance interview.
Love Island launched on Monday and saw the five original lads and lasses couple up, but at the end of the show two new boys Tommy Fury and Curtis Pritchard entered the villa.
Ahead of the two newbies walking into the villa, the show revealed some clips taken from entrance interviews with the two boys.
In an exclusive interview with OK! magazine, Tommy opened up about his previous relationship with girlfriend of two years Millie Roberts.
He told Ok! magazine : “I’ve been single now for about 8-10 months. But like I say, it was my first relationship. We all have first girlfriends.”
However, Millie has come forward to share her outrage about this statement – and she instead claims that they only split up three months ago.
The self-confessed “sweet, soft bear ready to be cuddled” has instead provoke anger from 20-year-old Millie, who shared her upset on social media.
Taking to Instagram to lash out at the 20-year-old boxer, she shared an image of them from February this year.
Along with the image, she wrote: “Didn’t realise Feb-March was like eight months ago? I know you’re not the best at maths but this is no excuse.
“It’s mad what fame and money can do to people try and act like the whole relationship was nothing but okay Tommy, you do you.”
She added a second post to her Instagram story before yesterday’s Love Island episode aired where she thanked people for the support they had shown in the aftermath of her revelation about the boxer.
Love Island viewers have been split about Tommy after he swiped blonde bombshell Lucie out of Joe.
In a number of tense scenes in last night’s show, the pair both tried to crack on with Lucie, who at first decided she wanted Joe and then decided she wanted to remain open.
In the first look for tonight’s show, it looks like the fight over Lucie is continuing, but it also seems like Joe is chatting with Amber, but he has his work cut out.
Tommy is currently coupled up with Lucie, but that might change later this week when the contestants recouple.
Especially as new addition Molly-Mae Hague makes her way into the villa in tonight’s show.
Whether Tommy will find love with Lucie or new girl Molly-Mae or another, or will even be left without a partner at this week’s recoupling ceremony, all will be determined as Love Island continues.
